Matthew Matt James is a North Carolina native born on 5 December 1991. He is the father of Manny and Patty James and is of mixed race. His mother was caucasian as was his father Nigerian. He graduated from Sanderson High School. In 2015, James earned a Bachelor of Economics degree from Wake Forest University. James first became famous by his character on The Bachelorette's reality TV star. In 2020, he was chosen to play the role of bachelor on The Bachelor's season 25, becoming the first African American male lead which was later aired in 2021. James was the ideal choice for the role, as he is well-rounded tall, large and has great humor. Rachael Krukconnell was James's love interest towards the end of season. He teamed up with the popular dancer Arnold in 2021 and competed in season 30 of Dancing with the Stars. James as well as Arnold finished 12th place.
